For some years now, even technology has tried to take the path of fighting olive tree diseases, creating a special digital monitoring service to which every farm can join.

The only company in Italy that offers this service is Elaisian, a company that for years and with the right experience in olive growing, has created the ideal tool that every olive grower would like to have.

It is a weather station, which is installed inside the olive grove, capable of recording all the weather data useful for deciphering the presence of pathogens (fly, moth, peacock eye and leprosy).

The data are subsequently analyzed by a proprietary algorithm, based on agronomic studies, from which alerts and reports are obtained which are systematically sent to the farm.

How does Elaisian service work?

Elaisian monitors and continuously monitors over 250 companies worldwide, in Italy, from North to South and is also present in the main regions of Spain, Greece, Chile, the United States and Uruguay. The farmer can receive, both by e-mail and by sms on his mobile, all the data useful for the protection of plants. In a nutshell, the steps are as follows:

  • The Agrometeo Station detects the weather data, which are sent to the Elaisian computer system;
  • The data are deciphered and processed thanks to agronomic studies;
  • The algorithm estimates the presence of diseases and produces results;
  • The results are sent, in the form of an alert and / or report, and declare the progress of the pathogens and between how many days and in what percentage the disease will appear;
  • Once the olive grower has seen the results, he decides whether to treat and how to do it

Innovation and Research and Development are the basis of the Precision Agriculture system, which is why Elaisian has designed The New Agrometeo Station, which will be present within the “Enterprise” subscription.

The New Weather Station: How does it work?

  • AUTONOMY: Battery with solar panel and autonomy of 5 years. SIM for connectivity. Sensors for humidity, temperature and rain.
  • COVERAGE: The weather station is installed on average 1 every 15ha. (this varies according to the conformation of each plot).
  • INSTALLATION: easy installation with pole included, at a height between 1.50 and 1.70 m.
  • FREE OF USE: The agrometeo station is provided on free loan of use, maintenance is completely managed by Elaisian.
  • INSURANCE and GPS: equipped with GPS system. Insurance included.
