Elaisian after the strong experience gained on the olive sector decides to move on a second culture to be monitored: the Vine.
The Elaisian Precision Agriculture system, since January 2020, also embraces the world of wine. In addition to the monitoring already active for three years on olive cultivation, in as many as 6 countries in the world, the Roman startup decides therefore to assist the winegrowers in their adversities and daily vicissitudes.
How does the Elaisian service work?
Elaisian provides a precision agriculture service able to prevent both the diseases of the olive tree and the vine and that allows to optimize the cultivation processes, such as fertilization and irrigation. The farmer receives, by e-mail, SMS and via App on his mobile phone, all the data useful for plant protection. In a nutshell, the steps are as follows: The agrometeo enterprise station detects the weather data. The station sends the data to Elaisian’s computer system. The data are deciphered and related to those known scientifically for the different pathologies. The algorithm estimates the presence of their presence by sending alerts and reports as results.
How many weather stations to install?
The Elaisian Precision Agriculture service is based on the study of the microclimate, that is the study of peculiar topographic and environmental elements, which allows to have an optimal precision of the situation in the field monitored, reason for installing 1 station per 20/25 hectares (on average).
What are the advantages for the winegrower?
The advantages of the Elaisian system concern not only companies but also small producers who carry on their activity as hobbyists, without limits of size or production. Each farm has the possibility to have:
- real-time climate data of its plot
- weather forecast data to 5 days
- historical point archive of the climatic data collected on each farm
- land SMS alert to prevent pathogens
- satellite images to monitor water stress, food and vegetation index
- cost savings (treatments, manpower, miscellaneous consumption) equal to 15/20%
- increase in quality and quantity of production equal to 10%
- reduction of environmental impact.
All this allows to conduct an agriculture intelligent also in terms of reduction of labor costs, optimization of the displacements, reduction of the use of machinery and optimization of the time. Each farm, in addition to the agrometeo station installed has a private access to its data through a dedicated app.

The price of the service depends on the size of the vineyard and the number of agro-weather stations needed.
